As an aesthetic practitioner, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing someone finally realise their worth and begin walking around with their head held high. Because if there’s one thing that can often be overlooked in aesthetics, it’s not the change it creates in someone’s appearance, but the change in their whole persona.
Looking good means feeling good
We’ve all had those moments where our appearance has really changed the way we feel. Walking out of the hair salon with a brand-new cut and colour, leaving the beauticians after a manicure and pedicure, or entering a restaurant with a stunning new outfit on – investing in ourselves gives us confidence; and that confidence helps us feel good.
During the lockdowns we’ve had to put on hold some of our usual rituals that help us feel good, and we’ve all felt the negative impact of this. The truth is, when we look good, we feel good about ourselves.
Of course, there are a number of ways you can improve your confidence and wellbeing; eating healthy, regular exercise, quality sleep and avoiding excessive drinking and smoking are just a few. But facial aesthetics is another string to your bow when looking to boost how you feel.
A beautiful smile isn’t always enough to build a positive self-image, but it’s a good place to start
Many people attending the Anti Wrinkle Clinic want natural enhancements or a refreshed, rejuvenated look. Aesthetic treatments are a personal and emotional experience, and the difference between the person walking into the clinic, to the person walking out is huge! Body language says it all; I know how a person is feeling about themselves when they walk in, head hung low, neutral or negative facial expressions, sometimes hiding their face behind their hands or hair. You can tell that the way they look is hindering their confidence. But that same person can leave with a huge smile on their face, straight, upright posture, positively glowing – that’s why I love what I do.
