What Exactly is Profhilo Treatment?
Profhilo is a stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) treatment used to rejuvenate the skin and improve laxity. It also targets dullness, fine lines & wrinkles, and loss of volume.
How is it different to Dermal Fillers?
It’s the first ever BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid-based – this is revolutionary so let us explain why. BDDE is a chemical used in dermal fillers to help slow the rate at which the body breaks the filler down. While this may sound like a good thing, BDDE isn’t always well tolerated by our bodies. This means there is a lower risk of having a reaction to the treatment. Plus, you can rest assured that you’re not putting synthetic chemicals into your body.
What’s so good about Hyaluronic Acid?
You’ll have likely heard of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) as it’s a common ingredient in anti-ageing skincare. It's essential in maintaining hydrated skin which reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It’s also a humectant – this means that it attracts water like a magnet, reducing the loss of moisture in the skin.
Profhilo uses one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml) so this makes it one of the most effective products for rejuvenating ageing skin.
What can I expect during a treatment session?
For optimum results, we recommend you have two treatments, four weeks apart. The reason for this is that the first session is for stimulating the skin and the second is to boost it and ensure longevity. There’s nothing stopping you from having just one treatment, but you won’t see the full results.
During your appointment, Profhilo is injected just under the surface of your skin, using a very small needle. These injections plump and hydrate your skin, which will smooth fine lines and wrinkles and improve dullness.
These sessions don’t take too long – around 30 minutes – and because there is no recovery time, you can carry on with your day normally afterwards.
Which areas can be treated?
At the Anti Wrinkle Clinic, we most often treat the face, neck and décolletage. However, it can also be used on the arms, elbows, hands, abdomen and knees.
