Everyone’s skin tells a different story. And when patients come to the Anti Wrinkle Clinic, my goal is to ensure your skin’s next chapter is its best one yet. While everyone’s skin concerns and goals are unique, there are certain issues that tend to show up time and time again. At my clinic, the three skin concerns I'm most often asked to help with are:

  • How to get rid of wrinkles
  • Skin laxity and sagging
  • Dark circles under eyes

These issues can affect anyone, and they aren’t just signs or results of aging – they’re signals of what’s happening beneath the skin’s surface. The good news is that with the right understanding and approach, these concerns can be improved safely and effectively with aesthetic medicine.

Let’s explore why these skin concerns happen and how I can help address them using treatments deliver great results – and that I offer right here at the clinic.

Concern 1: How to get rid of wrinkles

Fine lines and wrinkles are perhaps the most common skin concern I get asked about. They form over time due to a combination of repeated facial expressions (dynamic wrinkles), natural collagen loss, sun exposure, environmental damage, and skin dehydration. From your late 20s onward, collagen production slows down and the skin begins to lose elasticity. As a result, lines usually begin to form around the eyes, forehead, mouth, and neck – and over time, they deepen into more visible wrinkles.

How to treat it:

If you’re trying to figure out how to get rid of wrinkles and fine lines, I offer several highly effective medical aesthetic treatments – some that work directly with your skin’s biology:

Anti-Wrinkle Injections: These are ideal for softening dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle movement – such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines. Results are natural-looking and typically last 3–6 months.

Viscoderm Hydrobooster: This injectable skin booster helps smooth fine lines in areas prone to movement, including the forehead and around the eyes. It provides deep hydration while improving elasticity and surface texture without altering expression.

Microneedling: This technique uses controlled micro-injuries to prompt collagen renewal, improving the texture and firmness of the skin while softening the appearance of fine lines.

Used alone – or by combining these treatments where appropriate – we can target both the surface signs and underlying causes of wrinkle formation.

Concern 2: Sagging skin (loss of firmness)

Over time, everyone’s skin gradually loses its firmness due to a natural decline in collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. These are the three main components that give skin its structure and bounce. This loss is often most noticeable in the lower face (cheeks, jawline, neck) and can be worsened by sun damage, weight fluctuations, and lifestyle factors.

How to treat it:

If you’re concerned about sagging or loose skin, I offer several skin tightening treatments that can help rebuild strength and elasticity from within.

Sculptra: A powerful collagen stimulator that works over several months to improve volume and tightness in areas affected by skin laxity. It’s ideal for skin tightening in the cheeks, temples, jawline, and other areas showing signs of deflation or sag.

Profhilo and Profhilo Structura: In addition to providing deep hydration, Profhilo stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the skin, offering a mild lifting effect. Profhilo Structura is a more targeted formulation designed to enhance firmness and structure, addressing laxity and volume loss without the heaviness of fillers.

Polynucleotides: Particularly effective for skin that appears thin or weak, Polynucleotides strengthen the extracellular matrix and help restore skin resilience and firmness.

Each of these treatments offers a regenerative approach to skin tightening, meaning they help the body rebuild naturally rather than simply filling or masking the problem.

Concern 3: Dark circles under eyes

While most people often associate dark circles under eyes with tiredness, the cause is often far more complex and can result from multiple overlapping factors. In many patients, dark circles are the result of thinning skin and loss of volume at the tear troughs, which creates those unwanted shadows. Other causes include poor circulation, fluid retention, pigmentation, and even genetics. Stress, fatigue, and dehydration can worsen their appearance.

How to treat it:

At the Anti Wrinkle Clinic, I always begin with an individual assessment to understand what’s contributing to the appearance of dark circles under eyes. Depending on your needs, I may recommend:

Polynucleotides: These regenerative injectables work brilliantly for improving under-eye quality, thickening the skin, and reducing inflammation and dark shadows. They’re particularly helpful when skin thinning and sagging are the root cause.

Sunekos: A combination of hyaluronic acid and amino acids that targets early volume loss and brightens the eye area. Ideal for patients who want to improve elasticity and smoothness without adding heaviness.

Dermal Fillers (Tear Trough Treatment): Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can restore lost volume in the tear troughs and reduce hollowing that causes shadowing. We typically recommend this treatment after improving skin quality with either Polynucleotides or Sunekos. By first addressing hydration, elasticity, and pigmentation, we create a healthier foundation – making filler placement safer, more natural-looking, and longer lasting.

Results vary from person to person, but most patients experience visible improvements in brightness, texture, and tone after a series of treatments. Many patients try to fix this issue with eye creams, but if the underlying issue is structural, no topical product will lift or brighten that area effectively.

Other skin concerns we can help with

While these are the three most common concerns we see at the Anti Wrinkle Clinic, I also treat a wide range of other skin issues, including:

  • Dull or dehydrated skin
  • Uneven skin tone and pigmentation
  • Acne scarring
  • Large pores
  • Volume loss in the cheeks or lips
  • Sensitive or reactive skin
  • ... and more

Whatever your skin concerns, I'll make it my mission to help you find the targeted medical aesthetic treatments to address them directly.

Skin Concerns FAQs

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes – every treatment at the Anti Wrinkle Clinic starts with a consultation. This is an important step to make sure the treatment you’re considering is both suitable and safe for you. During your consultation, I’ll take the time to understand your goals, review your medical history, and discuss what’s best for your skin.

Please note that payment doesn’t automatically guarantee a treatment. If anything comes up during your consultation that makes a procedure unsafe or unsuitable, I will explain why and recommend alternative options.

Who performs the medical aesthetic treatments?

All treatments are personally performed by Dr Yiannis (that’s me!), a fully qualified medical aesthetic practitioner with over 20 years of experience. My academic and clinical background includes:

  • General Dental Surgeon, University of Siena, Italy
  • Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry, University College London (Eastman Dental Institute)
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry, University of Manchester

Over the past 20 years, I have also completed extensive postgraduate training in facial aesthetics, participating in numerous advanced, hands-on training modules both in the UK and across Europe. This includes training delivered by internationally recognised experts in medical aesthetics as well as by the pharmaceutical and medical device companies whose products I use in clinic, ensuring my techniques are up to date, evidence-based, and aligned with the highest safety standards.

Everything that happens at the Anti Wrinkle Clinic, I personally carry out – ensuring consistency, safety, and care from start to finish.

Are your aesthetic treatments regulated?

Yes – all injectable treatments at the Anti Wrinkle Clinic are fully regulated under UK medical guidelines. Treatments are prescribed and administered exclusively by Dr Yiannis following an in-person consultation to confirm suitability.

Rest assured, we follow strict clinical and hygiene protocols and source products only from licensed UK pharmacies.

How long do treatment results last?

Results vary depending on the treatment and the individual. As a general guide:

  • Anti-Wrinkle Injections typically last 3–6 months
  • Skin boosters such as Profhilo and Viscoderm Hydrobooster generally last 6–9 months with an initial course of two sessions
  • Collagen stimulators such as Sculptra build gradually over several months and results can last up to 2 years
  • Polynucleotides and Sunekos are typically delivered as a course of 3–4 sessions, with results lasting 6–12 months
  • Dermal Fillers vary depending on the product used and the area treated, but most last between 9–18 months

Factors such as your skin condition, lifestyle, metabolism, and how your body responds to treatment all influence longevity. During your consultation, I'll give you a more personalised expectation based on your specific situation.

Can treatments be combined?

Yes – and in many cases, combining treatments delivers better results than a single treatment alone!

Different products work at different depths and through different mechanisms, so combining them allows us to address multiple aspects of a concern simultaneously.

For example, I might recommend improving skin quality with Polynucleotides or Sunekos before placing Dermal Filler, or pairing a skin booster with Anti-Wrinkle Injections to address both hydration and muscle movement at the same time.

That said, not every combination is appropriate for every patient, and I'll never recommend a combination simply for the sake of it. Any plan I put together is based on what I genuinely believe will give you the best outcome for your skin.

Are there any side effects or downtime?

All injectable treatments carry some degree of risk, and I think it's important to be straightforward about that. The most common side effects are mild and temporary - these include redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site, which typically resolve within a few days.

More significant but rare side effects can occur, and these will be discussed with you in full during your consultation before any treatment is agreed. I will always take a thorough medical history and ask about any medications or conditions that could affect your suitability or increase your risk.

There is generally no significant downtime with the treatments we offer, though I'd recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat for 24–48 hours after most injectable procedures. Any specific aftercare advice relevant to your treatment will be provided on the day.

If you experience any unusual symptoms – such as significant swelling, persistent pain, or other concerns – please contact the clinic immediately on +44 20 3598 7358.
