Juläine

As the skin matures, it gradually loses the collagen that keeps it looking firm, smooth, and resilient. Juläine is a collagen bio-activator that works to address this at a foundational level – not by filling the skin, but by encouraging it to rebuild itself naturally from within.

Unlike traditional fillers, Juläine focuses on regeneration. It activates the skin's own repair cells, triggering a gradual increase in collagen production that continues to improve skin firmness, elasticity, and texture over several months.

Juläine FAQ's

What is Juläine and how is it different from Dermal Fillers?

Juläine is not a filler. Rather than adding volume to the skin, it works as a collagen bio-activator, encouraging your skin to regenerate and strengthen itself from within.

The result isn't something placed inside your face – it's your own tissue, gradually rebuilding over time.

What I often tell patients is that this is less about changing how you look and more about improving the quality of what's already there.

How does Juläine compare to other treatments like Sculptra, Ellansé, and Profhilo?

It's a question I get asked a lot, and it's a good one – because on the surface, several treatments claim to stimulate collagen, and understanding the differences matters.

Sculptra is primarily used to restore volume and address more significant facial hollowing, whereas Juläine focuses on skin quality, working in a more controlled, refined way to improve firmness and elasticity without bulk volumisation.

Ellansé combines immediate contouring with longer-term collagen stimulation – so results are partly due to the filler itself rather than your own tissue. Juläine, by contrast, focuses purely on regeneration.

Profhilo and other skin boosters work by deeply hydrating the skin and improving surface quality – and they do this very well – but Juläine goes a step further by stimulating collagen at a structural level, leading to changes in firmness and resilience that hydration alone can't achieve.

At the Anti Wrinkle Clinic, I often use these treatments alongside each other, as they can complement one another well depending on what your skin needs.

Who is Juläine most suitable for?

Juläine tends to work particularly well for patients in the earlier to moderate stages of skin ageing – those who have noticed a change in their skin's firmness, texture, or resilience, and who want to address that gradually and naturally rather than through immediate volume correction.

It's also a strong option for patients who've tried skin boosters and are ready for the next level of structural improvement.

If you're not sure whether it's right for you, that's exactly what the Face-to-face hour is for – and I'd always encourage you to book one before making any decisions.

What is Juläine not suitable for, and who should avoid it?

There are two sides to this question – clinical contraindications and treatment limitations – and I think it's important to be upfront about both.

From a clinical perspective, Juläine isn't appropriate if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have an active skin infection in the treatment area, or if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients. If you have certain autoimmune conditions, are taking blood-thinning medication, or have recently had other facial procedures or a vaccination, we may need to delay treatment for safety.

From a treatment perspective, Juläine is a regenerative treatment, not a volumising one. It isn't suitable for lip enhancement, tear trough correction, or sharp structural contouring, and it won't produce the kind of immediate visible results that fillers do.

If any of these are your primary concern, there are other treatments far better suited to those goals.

Part of what I do during every consultation at the Anti Wrinkle Clinic is make sure you leave with a clear picture of which treatment – or combination of treatments – will actually get you where you want to be.

Can Juläine replace Dermal Fillers altogether?

Not in every case. Juläine is excellent at improving skin quality, but it doesn't replace lost volume – and for some patients, volume loss is a significant part of what's changed in their face.

In those situations, Juläine works best as part of a broader treatment plan, combined with other approaches to achieve a balanced result. I'll always be honest with you about what this treatment can and can't do.

How many sessions of Juläine will I need?

A typical course involves three sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart. The exact plan will depend on your skin condition and what you're hoping to achieve – something we'll work through together during your consultation before any treatment begins.

At my clinic, I never begin treatment without making sure we're both clear on what's realistic and right for you.

When will I see results from Juläine, and how long do they last?

Juläine works gradually, so patience is part of the process – and I always make sure patients understand this before we begin.

Some people notice early improvements in skin glow and texture within a few weeks, but the more meaningful structural changes – firmer, smoother, more resilient skin – typically become visible between two and four months after treatment, continuing to develop beyond that.

In terms of longevity, most patients I treat see improvements that hold for well over a year, as the regenerated tissue continues to provide structural support.

This is quite different from traditional fillers, which metabolise and diminish over time – and it's one of the things that makes Juläine a compelling long-term investment in your skin.

Are there any risks or side effects with Juläine?

Juläine is designed to work with your body's own processes, which helps keep the risk profile low.

Most patients experience only mild, short-lived effects such as slight redness, swelling, or small bumps at the injection sites – these typically settle within a day or two. Because Juläine stimulates collagen gradually rather than causing a strong inflammatory response, the risk of excessive tissue reaction is minimal.

More significant side effects are rare, but as with any injectable treatment, bruising, infection, or allergic reaction can occasionally occur.

If you ever have concerns after treatment – especially if you notice severe pain, increasing swelling, or changes in vision – please contact the clinic immediately on +44 20 3598 7358.

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes – every treatment at the Anti Wrinkle Clinic starts with a consultation. This is an important step to make sure the treatment you're considering is both suitable and safe for you. During your consultation, I'll take the time to understand your goals, review your medical history, and discuss what's best for your skin.

Please note that payment doesn't automatically guarantee a treatment. If anything comes up during your consultation that makes a procedure unsafe or unsuitable, I will explain why and recommend alternative options.

Are your treatments regulated?

Yes – all injectable treatments at the Anti Wrinkle Clinic are prescription-only and fully regulated under UK medical guidelines. Treatments are prescribed and administered exclusively by Dr Yiannis, following an in-person consultation to confirm suitability.

Rest assured, we follow strict clinical and hygiene protocols, source products only from licensed UK pharmacies.

Who performs the Juläine treatment?

All treatments are personally performed by Dr Yiannis (that's me!), a fully qualified medical aesthetic practitioner with over 20 years of experience. My academic and clinical background includes:

     • General Dental Surgeon, University of Siena, Italy
     • Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry, University College London        (Eastman Dental Institute)
     • Master of Science (MSc) in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry,        University of Manchester

Over the past 20 years, I have also completed extensive postgraduate training in facial aesthetics, participating in numerous advanced, hands-on training modules both in the UK and across Europe. This includes training delivered by internationally recognised experts in medical aesthetics as well as by the pharmaceutical and medical device companies whose products I use in clinic, ensuring my techniques are up to date, evidence-based, and aligned with the highest safety standards.

Everything that happens at the Anti Wrinkle Clinic, I personally carry out – ensuring consistency, safety, and care from start to finish.

How should I look after my skin post-treatment?

For the first 24 hours, I recommend all my patients take it easy. You can certainly cleanse and moisturise the skin, but please avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas. Wearing makeup is perfectly fine, but keep it light-handed. It's also a good idea to skip strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot yoga for the rest of the day.

For the next one to two weeks, I would also recommend staying clear of facials, peels, and microneedling. Importantly, I urge you to use daily SPF (30–50) and keep hydrated. Remember – good skincare supports great treatment results.

If you experience any unusual symptoms – be that pain, discomfort, itching, or redness – please contact the clinic immediately on +44 20 3598 7358.
