Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimal invasive treatment which aims to cause fractional wounding that triggers an inflammatory response. When the skin is injured a series of reactions take place in order to maximise and repair tissue damage. This causes a healing cascade to regenerate and repair, stimulate collagen and elastin production and improve epidermal turnover and fortify the components of the extracellular matrix.

At the Anti Wrinkle Clinic your microneedling journey starts at your home with one of our skin preparation kits 2 weeks prior to the actual treatment. The treatment then involves the use of an ultimate microneedling device in combination with the c.prof and x.prof range of active transepidermal solutions by mesoestetic.

Microneedling FAQ's

Are there different type of devices?

Yes, microneedling falls into two main categories, manual or mechanical. Both types of devices are physically rolled or moved over the skin by the practitioner who will work systemically to cover the treatment area and focus on specific needs.

At the Anti Wrinkle Clinic we use the m.pen pro by mesoestetic, a new device developed to produce spectacular results safely and effectively. The headpiece movement is automatic, constant and perpendicular to the skin, contributing to its fast recovery. The m.pen allows for easy adjustment of the depth and speed of the treatment. The m.pen pro features 5 speeds and 6 depths from 0.25mm to 2.5mm, creating 6,500 microchannels per minute up to 10,000 per minute.

Why do I need to prepare my skin prior to microneedling?

What is c.prof and x.prof?

C.prof and x.prof are a complete range of solutions of active ingredients specific for transepidermal application. This is for the purpose of treating all types of facial, body and hair aesthetic concerns.

C.prof is an exclusive line of active ingredients in 10 different cocktails, whereas the x.prof range includes 18 single active ingredients which require mixing for a personal customised treatment.

Microneedling facilitates and increases the transepidermal penetration of the c.prof and x.prof active substances that are applied topically, through the formation of thousands of epidermal microcanals.

What conditions can microneedling be used to treat?

Microneedling treatments are able to stimulate, regenerate and repair the skin, improving epidermal turnover and fortifying the components of the extracellular matrix, reducing the visibility of the scar tissue and improving the overall skin condition. It is a treatment widely used for post acne scarring, ageing, skin redness and vascular damage, pigmentation and stretch marks. Microneedling can also be performed on the scalp for hair loss.

How long is the treatment recovery time?

The reaction from the treatment is determined by the needle length used and the skin type and condition. 24-48 hours after the treatment normal erythematic and tactile sensations will have reduced or even disappeared altogether. Appropriate homecare will help the recovery and maximise results of the treatment.

Why do I need more than one treatment?

The effects of the treatment are cumulative. Your body will slowly develop collagen and elastin over time and therefore it is beneficial to have a course of 5 treatments (2 weeks apart) to achieve the best results.

When I met Dr Yiannis, I was so pleased to discover his holistic approach to aesthetics. He does not just promote his products( in my case I was interested in anti-aging boosters) but considers the whole patient. I went to see Dr Yiannis for Anti-Wrinkle Treatment and consultation to improve overall appearance of my face. Dr Yiannis took his time to explain options that he believed will help achieve what I was looking for. He is very professional and knowledgeable. I have to say Dr Yiannis exceeded all my expectations! I went to him with a lot of insecurity about my eye/eyebrow area and I was so amazed by his professionalism, patience and personalised approach to my concerns. I have had anti wrinkle treatments with him to prevent the formation of static lines in the eye area as well as Profhilo, which was honestly a game changer for my skin complexion, i loved it! I had Profhilo treatment on my neck and from start to finish the service has been superb. Dr Yiannis is incredibly friendly and he clearly explained the procedure in detail providing me with the opportunity to ask lots of questions . I was quite nervous as it was my first time having profhilo but Dr Yiannis put me completely at ease.The procedure was almost painless and after 24 hours the small lumps ( which are normal following profhilo) had completely disappeared. 4 weeks later and the skin on my neck appears more hydrated and the neck lines are barely visible.
